Download Bill config

- - - - -

It's what we've all been waiting for! (OK, maybe not...) Anyway, here is my config.
It's not much, but I think it might be helpful to new players who don't know much about these tweaks, or people who don't care enough to go looking for them.

To use it, create a file in your etmain folder called autoexec.cfg and copy this into it.
Then run ET, connect to a server, pull up the console and type exec autoexec.
This will make sure all the settings are saved to both your etmain profile and your etpub/nq/other profile.

If you're going to use this, you probably want to leave out the graphics section.
There's nothing in there that you can't do from the main menu, but I have it here because it's what I use.
Also, you'll probably want to use a different sensitivity, since that depends on your mouse.
I think the network section is pretty standard for a decent computer and Internet connection, but you might want to read about those three commands before you put them in. Other than that, I don't think anyone would argue against any of these settings.

For sensitivity, lower seems to be better, especially for long-range shooting. But if it's too low you might have trouble reacting to close threats.

Right now my sensitivity lets me do a 180 using half the mouse pad. If you want to set it really low, you can add some acceleration, which makes your sensitivity change depending on how fast you move your mouse.

This is set using cl_mouseAccel. Also, Windows has some mouse acceleration turned on by default. You can turn it off by unchecking the "Enhance pointer precision" box in the Windows mouse settings.

Only other tip I have is how to minimize ET. Don't download anything for this. Just press CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE, then right-click Enemy Territory and choose Minimize.
