- 65'th memorial D-DAY -

Today June 6 2009, it is 65 years ago that the allied forces liberated the occupied West-Europe.

as 65 years has past since this event that changed the world people all over the globe want to keep it remembered.
that is why i wanna keep it alive in our thoughts, by making this news about D-day.

On June 6, 1944, 150,000 Allied soldiers clambered aboard heaving landing craft and braved six-foot swells, waves of machine gun fire, and more than 6 million mines to claim a stretch of sand at a place called Normandy. Their mission was to carve out an Allied foothold on the edge of Nazi-occupied Europe for the army of more than one million that would follow them in the summer of 1944. This army would burst forth from the beachhead, rolling across Europe into the heart of Germany, liberating millions, toppling a genocidal regime, and ending a nightmare along the way. But it all began on this beach in France, with an army of teenagers on a day called D-Day.


The 65th anniversary of D-Day will find our youngest D-Day and WWII veterans turning 82 years of age. The years to come will find ever fewer of them among us, and fewer still able to travel and share their stories. Because that day will arrive all too soon, the National D-Day Memorial will present Overlord Echoes June 4-7, 2009 to allow veterans and the public to share information and perspectives on D-Day with the larger purpose of preserving the lessons and legacy of that decisive moment in history.


In its historical and human consequences, D-Day is epic. A turning point in the course of the war, D-Day signaled the beginning of the end of the age of fascism and the return of hope to millions in occupied nations globally. Moreover, as the largest land, air, and sea invasion in history, D-Day drew upon human and military resources on an unprecedented scale, one consequence of which was the creation of an unprecedented number of veterans of a single battle. There are more veterans of D-Day than any other engagement in the Second World War, derived from every sector of our population and reflecting a wide variety of backgrounds, each one with a distinct and unique story of D-Day to share the story of ordinary men and women living in extraordinary times.


The 65th Anniversary of D-Day represents one of the last best opportunities for dialogue about this pivotal moment in history between large numbers of those who lived it, those who study it, and those who live with its effects. Overlord Echoes is designed to take full advantage of this extraordinary moment.

First off, thank you very much Highbrid for helping me count the votes. Next year will be completely different, this was a task to count all the votes. Some people voted more than once, and some people responded on the server awards with "crap server". To that I say find a new place to play, disrespecting one server is like disrespecting them all and especially disrespecting the community, you should be banned. Everyone that says how much they visit other servers only need to look at the results and see they do not, when 80% of the votes are abstain those people aren't visiting.

Congrats to everyone, don't be angry if you didn't win any awards this year. The system was a little messed up and many people abstained not knowing what to do, next year will be better.

With the |>B<|Cup is coming to an end. Thats is why it was time again to interview the man that made it all possible, offcourse i’m talking about CoCo!

* Hi CoCo First of all i wanna thank you to give an interview here for TBT.

* How did you experience this |>B<|Cup? You like how everything worked out?

Its not over yet We still have to see the final between Sado and Wobble. But yeah up till now its been a bumpy road.
We made a few changes compared to last years Bunkercup. Instead of the admins arranging all the matches and putting all the info on the website, this year we had a site where people could enter their teams + info themselves.
Also the teams had to arrange the matches themselves.
This made it a lot easier admin wise and less work. Unfortunately it also ment some teams had difficulties arranging their matches. Some teams had difficulties getting 6 online and kept resceduling delaying the cup for weeks. Some even dropped out after not being able to get 6. This was not cool. But unfortuantely very normal. In most et cups there are loads of forfeit wins. So compared to other cups it wasnt that bad.
We had more teams than last year and also more |>B<| originated teams
Also this year we had ettv for almost every match and also gamestv where people could bet on matches. This was a nice addition and it was fun watching the matches on ettv and getting rich on e-money
All in all it was laughter, tears, stress, hapiness, victories and defeats.

* Can you tell us what your Top 3 was before the |>B<|Cup started? And why you thought they would be in your Top 3?

Titanz, PO and Wobble.

Titanz, because they are a well know etpro team, attending CC6 etc. PO cause their lineup was strong and they used team USA players, Wobble because they came very high last year and the people that ended higher didnt attend this year.

* What do you want to say to those who kinda laughed at this |>B<|Cup because of the amount of hackers that were found?

Unfortunately etpro is infested with hackers. The mentality of the etpro community is crap. They allow old cheaters back into the community, sometimes only 3 months after a person got busted, dependable on where he got caught cheating.
With the Bunker Cup we had a zero tolerance policy so people with (old) pbbans were not allowed in. Our Pbstreaming admin, Falkes, checked all the players and cought around 30 people that had old bans. Thanx to him we had a clean Cup.

* Are you proud on your own team and what they did in this |>B<|Cup?

Yes, very proud. We started playing seriously as soon as the Cup was announced. After that we all got infested with the virus and started playing 6 v6 every evening. We made it past the groupstage and eventually got kicked out by Wobble, the finalists of this years Cup. But thanx to this years cup the nutsacks have a stable lineup and entered multiple Cups / competitions. We still arent the highest skilled, but were improving by the week

* Well important question now when is the next |>B<|Cup gonna start?

I dont know yet, probably in the winter. Its time for sunshine now

* Are there gonna be some new rules/guidlines in this new Bunker Cup?

More strict on player additions, more strict on following matchweeks, no more postponing, forfeit instead.

On Thursday 28th May 2009 Enemy Territory, the game we all love, turned 6. this means many have been playing, owning, noobing, ... allready for 6 years on Enemy Territory. ET !!!

"Enemy Territory, was originally planned to be released as a commercial expansion pack to the popular FPS Return to Castle Wolfenstein. However, due to problems with the single-player aspect, the multiplayer portion was released on May 29, 2003 as a freeware standalone game."

Years are passing faster and faster my friends. Such as every year I am here to remind you all that today our beloved best multiplayer first person shooter game in history WOLFENSTEIN: ENEMY TERRITORY celebrates 6th birthsday! I still believe that thanks to people who dedicate their free time in organizing cups,writing coverage, casting, playing and promoting Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory this game never dies!

- Bunker Promo II -

Bunker Promo II will be a movie based on the Bunker servers like part I which was made by Kleptomaniac. This movie however will have some more features then part I. It will also contain some trickjumping, nonsense and some footage from the Bunker Cup.

It's currently in production and I hope I can finish it soon. My life is a bit busier right now then it was beforce. But I use the weekends to work on this project. I hope to release it in July but I cannot promise anything... This means I still have 5 till 9 weeks if I want to release it in July. However i'm plaining to release The Pictures II 2 weeks beforce Bunker Promo II.

Bunker Promo III
Bunker Promo III is currently also in the works. I cannot tell much about it since i'm not making that movie. R3B0UND does. It's as far I know also set to be released this summer... Maybe R3B0UND should have a story about his movie next week in the news.

- The Torch Is Passed - Part 2

As you have seen now the torch has been passed on to me, I'm honored to follow in the footsteps of the almighty N00B and will do my Job with all the expertise he passed on to me, of course we will all miss THEN00B and his Bunker Times, and of course like a n00b he had nothing to tell me. TBT shall continue on under me and guidance from THEN00B. N00b has given me the power to write TBT, he will be a part time writer. THEN00B has also asked Peyote for permission to post the news, as you can see I now have.

Of course some of you are thinking now, oh noes THEN00B left , but far the less, THEN00B is still as inactive as he was , he just doesn't has time anymore to write these stories (as he also explained in Part 1) THEN00B is forced to be active once a week because I have made him the official editor, and MAKE him visit the forum to edit TBT each week. I'm still in close contact(he's easy to contact by IM) with THEN00B so all stories you have or will send to him will reach me in time, but as THEN00B isn't writing The Bunker Times anymore it would be better if you send your stories,... to me, which I then will put it the next Bunker Times.

As also written in Part 1, I was promoted into Admin Forum together With Vicious, we are lets say the newest recruits in the AF, I guess some don't even know what the Admin Forum (AF) is, here is a quote from Nevermore that he posted in his topic what people think about the AF:

I also want to thank Excessum, who is kind enough to help me with this major task of writing The Bunker Times. this shows that the regulars that play on Bunker still want The Bunker Times to be published every week. That gives me the power to keep doing this in the foot steps of THEN00B. Oh also Excussum I'll be the first 1 to say happy birthday, cause as i saw thats due to somewhere next week .

As for those who wanna know, I'm gonna interview our N00B in edition 50, which is going to be a party edition, but I'm not gonna tell more about that yet

As some have you already seen in This Topic or just on the left under some people their Avatar (that little picture on the left), new Rank bars are added on the forums, this means everybody who is an Official Bunker member/admin can be easily spotted on the forums.

- Bunker through the eyes of a regular -

All started on December 2007, when I visited B2 for the very first time. Back then I was a migratory hobo� I didn't settle down on any server. I did not have any clue how the things worked out in a community like Bunker. Although I came to B2 the second time and that's the way it started to roll.
At first I thought Bunker is a clan but that thing cleared out quite soon, as soon as I met Kusituppo (he is retired now I guess :/). There weren't flags to clear who is from where when I started to use B2 regularly and my English was even more poor what it is now, so I had to find a Finnish user. Kusituppo told me what Bunker is and things like the level system and how to achieve the tag. I was quite puzzled about all the rules and he told me to sign on the forum and I did that later.
I have to say that I wasn't a talkative person and that related to my English skills, so probably nobody remembers me from that time. In the beginning I didn't get any bunker friends who would even say hi when I come to the server and that was obvious because I didn't talk. Still Bunker felt an exciting thing, I wasn't able to leave.

Bunker was just 1 server for me when i stareted, at least to the point when I signed on forum. The whole thing opened to me when I read the rules, I browsed old topics and so on. I didn't even realize that there was more than one server. I still remember that I had realized who is an admin, who is a member and etc.
I don't even know how I managed to do that, even if I always read what others talk in the chat. I remember for example Sina (minni back then) and V!d! as regulars and of course the almighty Falkes as a strict and good admin. Nevertheless I was an active player even before signing on the forum but how anybody could ever remember somebody who doesn't talk at all?
At the some point I really interested about Bunker and I started to visit the B2 nearly every day. If remember right, it was in summer along with the interest of the forums and I'm still on that road. I was curious to check out other servers too, and as soon as I arrived on the B1 for the first to time, I realized that Bunker wasn't only B2. There was dozens of people on B1 who I haven't ever seen before and the atmosphere was different.
There was and is a small abyss between a European server and an American server (haha). On B2 it was still easy to open your mouth because you got the feeling that also the others weren't professional English speakers. At first I got quite a bothered feeling on the B1, a feeling that everybody is wondering who I am and what I was doing on the server. Now when I have been on B1 more than couple times, the feeling has changed: the server is more open-minded than I thought. Still the B2 is the home for me.
I can�'t mention all the users here, but thanks. As a regular it's always a pleasure to be on B2 and frag there or die, haha. It's hard to describe the servers, they all are individuals.

I want to mention the B10 and the B6 too, even though I'm not that much on these servers. The B10 is a great server, what more can I say? It's a small own community such nice people there. Thanks to RESTINPEACE and to Forrest to accepting me to the bot hunt, and the ventrilo moments have been great too. Btw, r0x0r owns lol. And the B6, especially KILLERBEE. He has been a great mate to me within time I has been in Bunker.
One big step was the cup, thanks to Stig, Soccer, Undead, Sickone, Vincent, Assel, Vincent, Flatron, Saevio.

And I know that people doesn't know me still (quoting v!d!: well I guess prolly 75% doesn't even know who you are, no offence but it will prolly be that way) and I would be pleased if I will get more contacts, more friends, more people who to talk with. I'm taking a big step with TBT, but I am proud to contribute Bunker and I want to keep it up.

As many know, I haven't written a volume of TBT is weeks-months. Though one person stepped up before I had no time to write, he had other things come up also which gave him no time either. I've received a lot of mail about the news being posted, and after convincing a couple people I think we now have a couple writers. Before we get into that, myself and Snake are looking to buy a house. On top of that I've been involved in some activism stuff, enjoying the warming weather, and some opposite sex stuff ;)

The last few weekends have been busy for me, but I'm happy to announce two people that will try to write the news for everyone. Excessum, who will try to write in the coming weeks and v!d!, who wrote this weeks news except for this piece. I think these guys will do ok even though they don't know what they're doing hahaha.

Everyone is still very encouraged to write and submit stories for the news, it doesn't matter if you just registered a week ago. If you have a story about the community, send it in!!! I'm going to try and write stories as well, but I wanted to post this on Saturday and then again on Sunday, and now it's Monday and it's being posted. Give these guys a break as they learn what took me 44 Volumes to learn.

There's still some other things to be worked out that I'll help them with, I may be semi-retired but I still love this community and hope for the best as the new generation of admins lead. I'm not done but I'm taking a step back, life gets crazy at times. I apologize to everyone, I've let you down with my absence. It's not only the news, it's the AF, being on the servers, the community, etc... I'm still reachable by IM, but sometimes reluctant to visit here because of what has become of Bunker. Guess that's another story, we should be celebrating the fact people want to write for the community.

In closing, v!d! made it to the AF on Thursaday, congrats. I think Excessum deserves a promo for stepping up to write for the community also, not to mention he did the Finnish translation. Respect the ones doing work FOR the community not the ones who get promoted for doing nothing. This community is what YOU make it, it will die if you say, it will survive if you wish it. The community is everyone not just the members or admins. If admins want respect they better earn it like any random player would, respect given will get you respect in return. I miss writing so this is long, I have so much love for this community and those that actually care. THEN00B is still alive and kicking, though quiet.

Question authority...and thank you v!d! for writing most of this. He also said he wanted to interview me, which I think would be great in the future.
