We need a place to make threads about

cfg, scripts, and cvars

name it

Scripts & Cfg

or

Cfg & Scripts

or

Scripts & CFG & Cvars

or a similar name

We will then have a central location for all Configs, Scripts, and Cvar discussions instead of how it is now all mixed in

Then please also move a bunch or a few threads into the new area - that have been made recently, or in the past about Scripts, Cfgs, or Cvars to start to fill the category.

-------------------------

http://bunker.aaxxss...?...&pid=280486 - Look how good this linked thread worked out and how its being utilized now!

Thx

Would be nice indeed to have one place to look and investigate emot_bigsmile.gif
Maybe move ADER10 stuff there too.
And i can put my n0b-cfg , maybe someone like some sht from there to use.

Hehe, one funny story about strngers cfg-s..
My mate installed win7 without copy hes ET or cfg... well, i helped him. I put my stuff to hes PC and sayd -good luck
... and 2-3 days after that he acts ingame like lunatic, all time emot_bigsmile.gif emot_bigsmile.gif emot_bigsmile.gif emot_bigsmile.gif smile and smile + constant kicking with foot emot_bigsmile.gif
poor mofo, so lazy to change my F binded as : ) to hes USE-button, and my R is kick - hes was reload
Anyway, it was really funny to look at emot_bigsmile.gif hes 30yo, sometimes too serious guy, and he thinks all enemys must be killed ingame. sht happens
One suggestion after that, if ur game runs good (settings are nice and controls/binds/scripts work) - take DVD and make copy for future emot_smile.gif whole game.
U may even play from that- with uber lag. Or just copy from DVD and update PB, and all is fine. No install needed.

Hihi, nice story bro. Never copy anothers cfg before checking it very very carefully. There's surprises for sure.

And to thread. This is great idea, make poll about this and let's see what happens. +1 vote from me

I thought a bit about the name of the subforum, how about 'Tweaking'
I would place it under http://bunker.aaxxss...php?showforum=4, (Enemy-Territory Discussion)

hints and tips for beginners is totaly enough...think about our moderators...so we dont need a subforum for every single fart

lol one should ALWAYS make a back up before using anyone elses (or their own new exparamental) scripts.

Bad things can happen when you forget a -attack in a script with a +attack in it.

The forums need sorting and this will help

At the moment, a lot of stuff is bunched up, where as if it were in its own category, it would make for better browsing.

People dont want a simple internet anymore like they did in yr 2000 or so....they understand forums better, and expect more from a website nowadays.

This move makes sense, and what about our moderators? You aren't making any extra work for moderators by making and naming a new category. If you decide later to do this, thats a whole lot of threads to move.

If you don't do this--you are making the forums harder to browse, and think towards the future when we have even more threads.

I dont wanna sort thru Senseless stuff, or et discussion, just put it into its own category.

Maybe you also don't realize more people would post their scripts and cfgs if there was a central area for it.

As far as putting stuff in the beginners section---thats better to be filled with tutorials etc

Name it Scripts & Cfgs -- "tweaking" sounds funny

Wiki is not the place for it either. Instead link to the category from wiki.

I'll repeat myself again... I'm a level 1000 and have been here since the beginning and I honestly have never read the rulebook aside from the first two lines or so. Why, cause its all common sense, you don't need a lawyer who writes rules, a bookkeeper that keeps track of infractions, all you need is common sense and an admin who looks at the current situations on the servers and then bends the rules to suit the funlevel at that moment and if needed turns a blind eye in favor of fun. I'm old school, you're a moron, your out, you are fun... hé cool you found your home :)
Thats all there is to being an admin, the ability to adapt the way you admin to the current atmosphere on the server, if you can't do that and need a rulebook to rule... get another job cause then you suck as an admin.

The wiki should have the best of -- copied into it -- you can harvest from the thread to the wiki

Name it "tweaking" if you want

and put it as part of "et discussion"

The thing is.....everything can be reversed, so dont hesitate to experiment. All stuff could be moved in or out also.

You could rename the category later as well.

It does collide with Tips & Tricks for Beginners, that is a mostly dead forum, which contains stuff which would go to Scripts & Cfg's.

Currently Bunker Gaming Community does mainly play Enemy-Territory, while the Tips & Tricks appears to be like tips & tricks for the forum, it also contains stuff related to ET. Which is no wonder.

D'oh.. organizing now a bit the forum content.. emot_smile.gif

edit: I will use as name Config & Scripts
cause of Configuration & Scripts is just to long..

only thing you gotta make sure. that people won't mess with their cfg posting here. else you'll end up with some sort of pb ban for wrong settings :p

but for sure that this is a good topic man. gonna check some cfg's out soon.
