It's been a while since I ran a silent mod server, but the grenade issue may have something to do with the g_weapons bitflag 1024 it concerns mortors but if set it may affect the grenades. Also the g_flushitems may effect grenades

Also level4 battle senses does not allow team mates to spot mines

Have not found anything about this being changed.

For now, you must breach the surface to throw a nade out of the water.

If anybody knows of a fix post it here.

I must say I do not like their attitude from that thread.  Default ET lets you throw grenades from underwater.

ET is not realistic, and if they are changing things based on realism, and not making them configurable, I don't really trust them to make a mod.

Is there a way to make gravity less on the panzerfest map.  I can't seem to get nearly as much height from my jump as I could with the pub mod.  And yes... IF I could jump to higher boxes and jump again I could get some height... but I find myself dead before I can accomplish that.  I've played two complete panzerfest maps now and have not been able to get any higher than about 1/4  of total height off the ground.  That is a map killer for me and will end up voting next map every time if I can't get even a little enjoyment out of this map... and any other panzerfest map for that matter...

That is not the first thread ive read from their dev's that they act like a bunch of arrogant pricks. I suppose that when you are the one's doing the work you are entitled to act like ass holes.

So far this is one of the only things that I have found that I dislike about the mod. Although it affects a very minuscule amount of my game play.

Can the distance allowed to spot mines be changed?  Right now you can only spot mines if you are close enough to see the ghosts which kinda blows.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........  if I had known that this new version of Silent mod was not configurable to mimic ETPub I would have expressed a different opinion in the original poll.

I just saw a post on mygamingtalk that discusses the mine spotting distance for other classes (other than covert). It appears that they have hard coded it in to the mod in the name of forced team play.  I dont care for how they take the options away from server administrators by forcing their opinions on how the game should be played by removing server settings.

I am starting to agree with QT. If I had known that they had set such limitations by removing control from the server admins to change options as they saw fit, I may have had a different opinion in the poll.

Like everything else, maybe it will just take some getting used to.

I wont give up on it yet!  ;)  Lets see if the positives out weigh the negatives.

Another forced change from default settings: http://mygamingtalk....gebar-behavior/

I think we may have had that turned on anyway though.

Interesting about the charge bar. I have never noticed that before here or on any other silent server. One thing we could do to alleviate it is to increase the speed of the charge.

I wouldn't be nearly as a big of a fan of silent if I knew the dev team was like that.

This may sound odd - but on the panzer map - It appeared that you can jump higher & in a more controlled manner - If you look UP in the direction you want to travel to - A little bit counterintuitive - If your scanning around at eye level trying not to get Noobed :-)

I was on the server tonight and tried a few gravity settings and got the players to say when it was right and i changed the mapconfig.

Tell me if it is better now.

I know I was one of the big supporters of silent, but I'm having a really tough time adjusting. The first day I was fine, better in fact than I was on pub. But every time after that has been a struggle for me. I can't seem to aim well - I've adjusted my m_pitch and m_yaw, I've changed my fov, I've increased the size of my crosshair, I've changed my fps, etc. My overall accuracy is still normal, but I can't get headshots, it takes an entire clip or more to get a kill, I take a lot more damage, and I'm dying more often.

It also feels like I'm moving a lot slower, especially lateral movement. It feels like when I do my side to side strafe dance to avoid damage, I'm moving so little, it's as if I'm standing still.

Now, as I've said in other threads, from my other experiences with silent, I like it better, and I had none of these issues before. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. I do go through slumps every so often, so perhaps the most likely thing is that I'm slumping, and it just happens to coincide with the silent change.

I'll keep trying, but I'm pretty frustrated. I'm not trying to get anything changed, just letting you guys know how I feel.

@Ace - When you're having a bad day aiming, one of the worst things you can do is constantly change your settings. The inconsistency in settings usually correlates to an inconsistency in gameplay. I'm guilty of changing my settings too, but the best players I know found settings that were comfortable and just stuck with them, mainly sensitivity settings. As far as your lack of headshots, I've always found a higher m_pitch, say 0.017-19 results in more headshots. Again, take any advice with a grain of salt, and never change what's working for you just because someone else says it's 'bad'. Your movement feeling sluggish may be due to other servers having jacked up movement settings, increased sprint speed and a fast recharging sprint bar.

My opinion of silent remains unchanged; I enjoy it greatly. Of course, regardless of mod, I will continue to play on bunker servers, but I am much more inclined to go out of my way to play with a mod that I like more. Gameplay is smoother and more consistent, and comes with the added perks of an anticheat, as well as a dev team, who may come off as arrogant or snobbish to some, that continue to work on improving the mod. Some of the unchangeable settings, like being underwater and not being able to throw nades or knives, is annoying, but IMO, not that game breaking.

For me, the most noticeable change from etpub to silent is the hitboxes. While the body and leg boxes seem to be bigger, the headbox is much more consistent with the player model and IMO better than pub.

I realize everyone has opinions, but hopefully this mod change is given a few weeks to thoroughly test, like the many changes that have happened in the past. If the general consensus is that etpub should be reinstated, then so be it. As long as people continue to populate B1, I'll be more than content.

When I look at my demos all I see is that I'm not reacting to direction changes quickly enough.  I start moving left just as the target starts moving right.

Also when you're getting hit it seems to be tougher to do anything.

The changes we've noticed aren't a big deal by themselves.  But when I see stuff like that, I wonder what else they're changing behind the scenes that is tougher to notice.  Maybe they also thought it was unrealistic to win a 2 vs 1 fight, so they adjusted the movements subtly to make it harder.  That sort of thing.

Also Ace, the best way to put yourself into a slump is to start messing with all your mouse settings.  :P

At this point though I want to keep Silent on just to see if I can figure out how to aim on it.  :)  Makes things a little more interesting.

There is a discussion about hit boxes and heat shot difficulty on that mygamingtalk forum.  Something about moving the body hit box up higher to around eye level leaving only the forehead for head shots.

Ive found it very difficult to get head shots even when only a head is exposed from behind an object. Not sure if there is any way to adjust for this, but coupled with my horrid lag on this temp server, it has made my game play very frustrating to say the least.

Ace, I am not sure if you are lagging on this server as well, but when I am in a fire fight with you, you warp all over the screen making you almost impossible to hit. I only wonder if you are lagging because I only notice this happening with a few players.  Ive seen you literally disappear and reappear in a different spot.  It could very well be an issue on my side since my ping constantly goes from 98 to over 200 and back throughout an evening.

Not to change the subject, but I can not figure out why Ive had this issue on bunker servers but not on others.  I realize that it seems to be an issue with comcast, but ive been getting horrible packet loss to our old server and this new temp server.  ;(
