Nvidia today released the GeForce Game Ready WHQL-certified 418.91 drivers, bringing optimal experience and further optimizations to users utilizing ray tracing and the recently-added DLSS support in Battlefield V. It also optimizes for Metro Exodus, which releases in two days – with pre-load available on Steam.

It may be worth noting that Nvidia has previously released three drivers optimizing performance for Battlefield V.

Additionally, there are a few bug fixes in this release:

[Battlefield 1]: Lines appear in the terrain with NVIDIA Control Panel anisotropic filtering override enabled.[1969966
[GeForce RTX 20 series]: Event ID 14 error appears in event viewer logs when Digital Vibrance setting is changed. [2488424]

There's a long list of known issues as well, including an acknowledgment for a game-crashing bug in Apex Legends:

Windows 10 Issues

[G-SYNC]: With a G-SYNC and G-SYNC Compatible display connected in clone mode, flashing occurs on games played on the G-SYNC display with G-SYNC enabled. [200482157]
[Apex Legends]: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error message may appear and then the game crashes.[2503360]
[Hitman 2]: Pixelated corruption appears in the game. [2504274]
[Iray][OptiX]: Iray GPU acceleration crashes and falls back to CPU acceleration. [2503738]
[HDR][Ni no Kuni 2]: Enabling HDR causes the application to crash when launched. [2483952]
[ARK Survival]: Multiple errors and then blue-screen crash may occur when playing the game. [2453173]
[Batman: Arkham Origins]: PhysX fog renders incorrectly [2451459]
[Firefox]: Cursor shows brief corruption when hovering on certain links in Firefox. [2107201]
Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) is not available for monitors with 4k2k timings. [2496987]
Random desktop flicker occurs on some multi-display PCs [2453059]

Windows 7 Issues

Random TDR events occur after updating to driver 418.81. [2500396]
[iRay][OptiX]: iRay GPU acceleration crashes and falls back to CPU acceleration. [2503738]

Additional Issues

2079538 - Random DPC watchdog violation error when using multiple GPUs on motherboards with LX chips
Workaround: Use the following tool to enable MSI mode as a temporary workaround (only apply changes to each NVIDIA GPU installed):
2449346-The Witcher 3 will BSOD with Bad Pool error randomly during gameplay
2451459-Batman: Arkham Origins: Physx fog rendering incorrectly
2453173-ARK Survival may crash with bad pool caller error and eventual BSOD

I updated to this version last week....cant play ET anymore :( :(

(OpenGl error's and random freeze of driver - even when using Firefox)

Seems version 418.x (and the newer version 4.19.x ) is having really issues with "Older" cards like my GTX1080 .

They can not reproduce the error, but cmm'n Nvidia.......

I got those random freezes of the system (GPU driver stops working) then the windows TDR kicks in. Normally you would get a BSOD (blue screen of death) but sins W7 driver model

the TDR prevents the system to crash and restarts the driver.

When you check winlogs and read the critical errors - A TDR has been detected. The application must close. Error code: 7 (pid=2004 tid=5800 et.exe 32bit

Do not update to this driver (W7&W8 and even W10 reports) or "know" it can or will corrupt playing ET.

Following that threat at Nvidia forums, it will tell you, They don't know how to fix it a.t.m.

I'm planning to make a fully uninstall the GPU-driver with the DDU application and then start to install the original driver with the GPU card  when bought.

DDU is an program that can uninstall and remove ALL traces of previous installed GPU/Drivers. But you should use it with care (and in save-mode Windows - need help, pm me)

Seems Nvidia is really F^kking up lately pushing  those RTX shit way overpriced cards :(
